Journaling Prompts: Quotes, Verses, Hymns, Questions, and Practices
to guide your Personal Journaling.

In our journaling practice, we find hope and inspiration in the pursuit of our God-given identity, guided by the wisdom of great Christian thinkers past and present. May their words, rooted in the truth of the gospel, remind us not to be swayed by the world’s distractions but to embrace our true purpose. Let them encourage us to draw near to God, living in the fullness of who He created us to be—seeking only His approval, for we live for an audience of One.

Spurgeon on True Rest
Charles Spurgeon taught that true rest comes from trusting in God's unchanging character, not in shifting circumstances or our own efforts.
God’s Character as a Foundation for Rest – True rest comes from knowing who God is. Whether you are in a time of the fullness of blessing or the stillness of waiting–you can rely on the steadfastness of God's character–which is full of grace.
Knowing God’s Attributes – Meditating on His love, mercy, and faithfulness strengthens our trust. You need not ever doubt who he is or that he loves you.
Resting in His Promises – God’s word is sure, even when life is uncertain.
Resting in Christ – Christ is the perfect revelation of God’s character and offers the promise of true peace and salvation.
Rest as a Spiritual Reality – Lasting rest comes from knowing and trusting God, despite our external circumstances.
